Information
User experience and interface design for a gaming oriented social network.

Playfire is a social networking website for gamers — automatic tracking of Xbox, PlayStation and PC gameplay — founded in 2008.

Early 2011 I was approached by Playfire and offered a three month paid internship to help lay the groundworks and shape the next version of the service.

When I started at Playfire in 2011 the user base was about 300 000 registered user, a number that by the end of year 2011 increased to over 1 million users. The core of the product helps gamers network and find other of simliar interest. Every detail and part of a web site has to encourage interaction with others as well as the wish play more video games and improve your skills.

One on the most requested features of the website is for the user to be abled to customize the interface, to chose a theme and personalize their user page. This was one of the criterias I had to incorporate with the new design.

On of the most requested features was the possibility to customize and use themes. type:outer

My role

Within a fairly small team, my contribution consisted of concept development, user experience and interface design, partly for the website but also other viral campaigns and small features in relation to the core website.
